Utilizing Cosmo Eco Power's Chuki Wind Farm for Wind Power Generation NTN Corporation (Eiichi Ukai, Representative Executive Officer, President; hereafter “NTN”) and Cosmo Eco Power Co., Ltd. (Fumiaki Nokura, Representative Director, CEO; hereafter “Cosmo Eco-Power”), a group company of COSMO ENERGY HOLDINGS CO., LTD. (Shigeru Yamada, Representative Director, Group CEO), have signed its first virtual PPA (a contract to directly purchase only the environmental value of the electricity generated, hereinafter “this PPA”) on May 7, 2025. A corporate PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) is a contract under which a consumer purchases renewable energy directly from a power producer. A virtual PPA, meanwhile, is a type of agreement where the consumer procures only the environmental value of renewable energy generated at a dedicated power plant located at a site rather than their own. The power plant subject to this PPA is the Chuki Wind Farm operated by Cosmo Eco Power, which began commercial operations in April 2021, and supplies electricity to the Kansai region where NTN also operates. The operating wind turbines are equipped with NTN bearings and Wind Doctor?, a Condition Monitoring System (CMS) designed for use in monitoring and preventive inspections of operating conditions. For Cosmo Eco Power, it is also the first case to conclude PPA with the supplier of the generator components.
